Syrian government forces backed by Russian airstrikes have driven Islamic State fighters from Palmyra on Sunday. The events marked the latest of a series of setbacks for the Islamic State group which has come under mounting pressure on several fronts in Iraq and Syria.

Thousands of soldiers matched solemnly to the streets in Dublin on Sunday to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Ireland's Easter rising against Britain. Ireland's president and prime minister also matched the day by laying a wreath to honor those who died.
And across the world, people are marking Easter Sunday, the day when Christians across the globe matched the resurrection of Jesus. From Vatican city to the Middle East, people attended Easter Mass on the Holy Holiday.
