Security remained tight as festivities for Gay Pride Month were underway in Cincinnati, two weeks after 49 people were killed at a gay nightclub in Orlando. Officials expected this year’s attendants to topple last year’s estimated turnout of 90,000 people.
A $5.25 billion expansion of the Panama Canal is expected to open Sunday. Renovations will double the canal’s capacity, and are expected to cut global maritime cost by an estimated $8 billion a year.
