Police say Dayton gunman Connor Betts' background wouldn't have stopped him from buying the rifle and ammunition he used to kill nine people. Meanwhile high-school classmates say he was suspended for keeping lists of those he wanted to kill and girls he wanted to sexually assault.
Six of the 20 people killed by a gunman in El Paso, Texas were Mexican nationals. Mexico's Foreign Minister has labeled the shooting an act of terrorism.
President Trump is condemning the pair of wicked shootings, saying "hate has no place in our country." He also says shootings have been going on for years and in his words, "we have to get it stopped."
And flights were canceled and train service was disrupted amid huge pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong. Police used tear gas to disperse the demonstrators in at least one area.
