Facing bipartisan pressure from congress, the Trump administration is defending its handling of Russian bounties for killing U.S. troops in Afghanistan. Trump national security adviser Robert O'Brien said he'd prepared a list of retaliatory options if U.S. intelligence assessments were corroborated. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the administration took the issue quote "seriously" and handled it "appropriately."

Police in Seattle tore up camping sites, cleared out protesters and took control of Seattle's so called "occupied protest zone." The mayor ordered the action following two fatal shootings at the site in less than two weeks.
New York City mayor Bill De Blasio announced the city will delay its planned resumption of indoor dining at restaurants due to fears over a possible spike in COVID-19 infections. De Blasio said outdoor dining at restaurants, which began about two weeks ago, should continue.
SpaceX has launched the U.S. military's newest, most accurate GPS satellite after a two-month delay due to the current health crisis. Shortly after the company's Falcon 9 rocket blasted off in Florida, its first stage booster landed on an ocean platform, so it can be recycled for future use.
