Top Republicans in congress met with President Donald Trump at the White House Monday to discuss a new COVID-19 relief package. Senate Majority leader Mitch Mcconnell has been poised to roll out a $1 trillion relief package, among other things, the White House says objects to allocating more money for testing and contact tracing.

Scientists at Great Britain's Oxford University say they're seeing early success with an experimental vaccine for the coronavirus. The study began in April and the scientists say some of the participants who received the vaccine developed an immune response.
Workers across the U.S. walked off the job Monday to protest racism and economic inequality. Dubbed "strike for black lives," the event was organized by Labor Unions and social justice organizations.
House lawmakers held a moment of silence for civil rights icon congressman John Lewis who died Friday after battling pancreatic cancer. Meanwhile, Georgia Democrats had announced a list of five finalists, who are under consideration to replace Lewis on the Novemer balllot.
