The White House is defending the use of federal officers at protests in Portland, Oregon, citing a U-S code that allows the Department of Homeland Security to deputize officers in other agencies to protect federal property. The standoff could potentially set off a constitutional crisis.
Astronauts at the International Space Station conducted their fourth and final spacewalk in in under a month before turning their attention to the end of SpaceX's first crewed flight. NASA's Bob Behnken and Chris Cassidy will now prepare to depart the ISS in the same Dragon SpaceX capsule in which they arrived at the end of May.
And a new study says most polar bears could disappear from the Arctic by 2100. The study by the university of Toronto in Canada, published in the Nature Climate Change Journal, says aggressive cuts to greenhouse gas emissions are needed now to save the animals from extinction.
