I guess it's just human nature that when someone or some organization gets really successful, there's just a group of people that want to tear it down. I see it happening with Google. I see all these people that are trying to tear Google down. And I go why are they doing that? Google is a great company. Google invented all these amazing stuff that we love to use, you know. And I see it, I see some of these people jumping on us now. You know, it's like I am not sure what you are after here. Would you rather that we were Korean companies instead of American companies? Do you not like the fact that we are innovating right here in America and leading the world in what we do?

What about this ,don't, it's got you so riled up. Of course we are human, of course we make mistakes. You know, that's never gonna stop. But sometimes I feel that in search of eyeballs, just to try to get eyeballs for these websites, people don't care what they leave in their wake. You know, this is a new phenomenon.

So I looked at this whole antenna gate thing and say Wow, you know, Apple has been around for 34 years. Haven't we earned the credibility and trust from some of the press to give us a little bit the benefit of doubt of our motivations and the fact that we are confident that we are gonna solve these problems, we are gonna take care of our users? See, I think we have that trust from our users. But I didn't see it exhibited from some of the press the last few weeks. As this thing was blown so far out of proportion.

And I am not saying we are not at fault. You know, we didn't educate enough because we didn't understand that everybody didn't know that every smart phone has weak spots. We didn't understand that we were painting a bull's eye on our phone and that somebody who had infos was gonna put videos on their websites, say "do this."  And we didn't know that our signal strength bars would have been miscalculated. We were gonna basically just hand it to a wrong platter to make it look much worse than it really was. So we were not just innocent in this, but the reaction in our opinion based on the data we have has been so overblown that to digest this and understand how we can do better next time, is gonna take a few weeks maybe.
