This is a city in Lock town from seven tonight to seven in the morning. I was dropped off at a court and outside

the city earlier this evening. Police officers told me that I needed to walk straight down the middle of the road to avoid, just in case of any other quakes, into avoid buildings.

Christchurch is a place that has a lot of heritage buildings and some of them have been very badly damaged. A lot in the central city that of scenes have come down. A hundred and twenty buildings we know of have been damaged but that is to rise considerably. There is also a damage underneath the city that we can't see to sewage and water pipes. There are concerns about water. People have been told to boil the water and try to conserve the water. It's also going to be anther anxious night for people, there have been after shocks all day. The last one around two hours ago and a lot of people are feeling extremely anxious that it might wake them up again tonight and it seems they are running to some safety. They have been a surprise, they have been known deeps or serious injuries in this earthquake. But we have been hearing a lot of about close calls people have managed to leap out of the bed just before bricks fell onto the pillow.

I think I woke up to the sound at first before you actually felt it and it just started, I mean, everything has just started to jolt around it was just a moment off, you know, you've got to get somewhere safer, I mean, three stories are up there, kind of unstable brick building even with the clashes you see bricks collapsed there. So I was just trying to get through the bedroom through onto under a door, and just stayed there.

They can't take some comfort tomorrow with none of the army and police here enforce, but the weather forecast is not going to help them, gale force winds are predicted; they could knock down already crumbled or fragile buildings and could also, if it rains, pollute the water supply.
