While it's still hard for some of us to believe that the 747 has now been around for 40 years, as it's about to get even bigger. Boeing has unveiled a new even larger 747. The aircraft, by the way, for which the term jumble jet was coined, in part to counter the new giant double decker Airbus from Europe, Boeing has extended its second floor bubble. And this new 747-8 Intercontinental is now the longest airliner in the world. They already have pre-orders from 107 jetliners, the first of them could be air-borne by next fall.
