中国将实现全年GDP增长目标
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang says considering the country's economy performance over the past few months, China will meet its main development goals.
"We are completely confident to achieve the target for the GDP growth at around 7.5 this year and control inflation at around 3.5 and a series of major economic development index. To fulfill these achievements, we have not issued too many RMB notes and increased the deficit, instead we sparked more market influence."
The Chinese Premier also calls on both sides to lift trade, urging EU countries to increase exports of high-tech products to China.
"If the EU increases exports of high-tech products to China by one percentage, total export volume will increase at least by 2.2 billion euro. You can see, it has a huge active meaning to increase exports of high-tech products to China and will benefit to the bilateral trade dynamic equilibrium, expand scale and mutual benefits and a win-win situation."
China and EU also unveiled a wide-ranging cooperation plan during the summit.
The new roadmap covers issues including trade, energy and urbanization with economic cooperation high on the agenda.
Li Keqiang describes the plan as "uNPRecedented" for China-Europe cooperation until 2020.
For his part, Herman Van Rompuy notes there is still a lot of room for economic growth between the two sides.
"Our bilateral investment flows are still far too low, given the level of integration taking place between our economies. This agreement will achieve more two-way investments between the European Union and China."
China is the second largest trading partner for the EU, following the United States.
The two sides also announced the launch of negotiations on an investment protocol.
The European Union has been China's largest trading partner for almost a decade.
Li Keqiang, Herman Van Rompuy and Jose Manuel Barroso have also overseen the signing of three deals on energy, intellectual property rights and agriculture-technology.
The summit is the 16th between the two sides, but the first since the new Chinese leadership took over in March.
