“这是我的国家，滚回中国！”中国服务生因不懂英语被新加坡男子当众羞辱

A video showing a Singaporean man demanding a server from China speak only English to him has sparked an outcry online.

近日，一段视频在网上引起了轩然大波，其中显示一名新加坡男子要求一名来自中国的服务员只能用英语跟他说话。

In the video, the man was upset that the worker was speaking to him in Mandarin and started to lambast the woman in front of other customers at a food court in Singapore.

事发新加坡。视频中，该男子在听到该服务员用汉语跟他说话时十分恼怒，并开始在饮食区当众厉声责骂她。

’You have to speak English, okay? You don’t ask me to speak Mandarin,’ he scolded her in the video.

他嘲笑道：“你只能说英语，懂吗？你不能要求我说汉语。”

Mandarin and English are two of the four official languages of Singapore - the other two being Malay and Tamil.

汉语和英语是新加坡四种官方语言中的两种——其他两种是马来语和泰米尔语。

The clip has since gathered more than 122,000 views and was picked up by Chinese media.

He was heard criticising the woman’s language abilities, saying ’this is my country’ and told her to ’learn English’ - while speaking in both Mandarin and English.

可以听到，他在批评该服务员的语言能力，称“这是我的国家”，并用汉语和英语叫她去“学英语”。

He also told her to ’go back to your country’ and blamed the Singaporean government for bringing in foreign workers and giving ’Singaporeans trouble’.

他还叫她“滚回你的国家，”同时指责新加坡政府让外籍员工入境，给“新加坡人制造麻烦”。

Singapore is an island country with an area of about 280 square miles and has a population of 5.8 million people.
