The killing of a Black man by police a week ago during an attempted traffic stop in Akron, Ohio, has led to renewed protests over the weekend.

Now, before we begin, we should warn you footage is disturbing, and we're going to be discussing details of it.

Matt, this shooting happened one week ago today. Walk us through what happened.

So first, 60 is the number of gunshot wounds that were found on the body of Jayland Walker.

That's according to the initial count from the medical examiner.

He was killed by police after he fled in his car when officers were trying to make a stop for unspecified equipment violations and maybe a traffic violation.

Walker slowed down his vehicle, jumped out and tried to flee on foot.

And after unsuccessful attempt to use to use tasers to stop him, police officers opened fire.

They started shooting when they said, or they reportedly said that they saw him make some action that was threatening.

And it's not clear how many shots were fired, but officials say that the number that's out there right now, about 90, is not far off.

Now, the body cam footage was released yesterday. What does it show?

The first thing we learned was that right after the pursuit moved onto the freeway, what appears to be a shot comes out of Jayland Walker's car.

In the footage, you see what looks like a muzzle flash from the door of the vehicle.

And then when Walker tried to flee on foot, you see the police try to taser him.

But then seconds later is the crescendo of gunfire where at least dozens of shots were fired.

It's important to note that Walker was unarmed at the time he was shot, but the video footage that was presented yesterday showed a handgun and a loaded magazine found on Walker's passenger seat.

Now, you've been reporting from Akron how people have been responding to the shooting.

Walker's family and members of local community are calling for accountability for police, but also for peace as daily demonstrations continue.

The lead attorney for Walker's family said the most troubling fact, it was the amount of firepower used.

And the fact that you couldn't see what the threatening action was on the video that the police have shared.

Protest grew yesterday after they've been going on for several days.

And there were several hundred people who were downtown outside of the city hall.

And they have remained peaceful so far.

And another member of the legal team, Paige White, had this to say right after the footage was released.

Jayland was shot more times than I can count.

And that is beyond troubling. We are done dying like this.
