From Washington DC to Los Angeles, thousands of people gathered and marched to show their support for women’s rights.
从华盛顿特区到洛杉矶，数千民众齐聚街头开展游行，以表达自己对女性权利的支持。

“We’re putting an important message out there that women matter, We’re more than half the population.We can make a difference in this world, I think we stand more for things we believe in:the love, the beauty, the hope, the uplifted side of humanity, we want to share that with others.”
“我们想向外界传达一个信息，那就是女性很重要。我们占了一半以上的人口。我们可以在这世上有所作为。我觉得我们代表了更多大家都相信的东西：爱、美丽和希望，这些人性崇高的一面。我们也想要跟大家分享这些东西。”

The symbol of women’s solidarity——red, but it’s not just women participating in these rallies. Fighting for women’s rights is personal for Carlos Heredia from Los Angeles.
本次游行用红色来象征女性的团结一致。不过参加各地集会的可不仅仅只有女性。对于来自洛杉矶的卡洛斯.埃雷迪亚来说，争取女性权利，自己责无旁贷。

“Growing up, seeing my mom abused by my father,then seeing my three sisters abused by their men and the consistency of hearing what goes on,what they call ‘gym talk’ or ‘corporate talk.’I think me, being a male, I need to do my job to protect our women.”
“在长大的过程中，我曾无数次地看到父亲对母亲施暴，看到三个姐妹被自己的老公打骂，因为一直听闻各种状况，还有他们所谓的‘健身房谈话’和“共同谈话”。所以我觉得作为一个男人，自己需要站起来做点什么，来保护我们的女性。”

For many women, this event was also a political protest against President Donald Trump.A several thousand rallied in front of the White House.
对于很多女性来说，本次事件也是针对特朗普的政治抗议。所以白宫前面也聚集了数千民众。

“What this president unfortunately is trying to do -- he and his ridiculous Cabinet -- is bring this country backwards.We thought we had fought and made progress many, many years ago.Unfortunately I think we got complacent, and we stopped fighting, and we have to keep fighting.”

Some people took the day off to make their voices heard.Others are retired or work for a company that support the message of this day.

Among them is the Paradigm Talent Agency where the women there are doing more than just rallying for women’s rights.They are also helping homeless women who are transitioning into permanent housing.
这其中就包括典范人才机构，为了维护同类权利，机构中的女性所做的可不单单只是参与集会那么简单。她们还在帮助无家可归的女性顺利定居。

“So we have 101 women in the Los Angeles office, so we decided to put together 101 hygiene bags today.And I think that’s actually a nice symbol, because I think as 101 it represents us as a group united,and the 1 represents us as individuals.We need to show up for things like today and we need to show up to be a part of the sisterhood.”
“我们在洛杉矶办事处共有101位女性朋友，所以打算今天准备出101个卫生袋来。我觉得这个象征意义很好，因为101代表我们团结一心的团队，1代表我们每个人都是独立的个体。我们得为了类似今天发生的事情站出来，证明自己也是这群姐妹中的一员。”

Many participants of “A Day Without A Woman” say they are the lucky ones.
许多参与“没有女人的一天”这一活动的人表示，他们真的挺幸运的。

“I know a lot of people can’t actually be here because they’ve got jobs they have to be at.So when you’re in a position where you can and you’ve got people saying like ‘go,’it’s important for us to be here and represent for those who can’t, and it’s incredibly important.”
“我认识的很多人今天都没办法到场，因为她们必须要工作。所以说当你身处一个自己有能力的位置，并且周围人会说，比如‘大胆去吧’，这对我们来到这里，并代表那些不能到场的人来说真的很重要，是你想象不到的重要。”

Surrounded by a sea of red,these women say they feel empowered to continue the fight for women’s rights of all kinds within their own communities.
女人们活跃在一片红色的海洋之中，她们称感觉自己又充满了力量，日后一定会继续为争取各自社区内女性的各种权利而不断努力。
