It was on the flight path of the airport’s northern runways.

“One, two, three, and lift it!”
“一、二、三，举！”
The signs which could be read only from the sky sent a message.
这些牌子上的字只有从空中才能看到，而且它们向大家传达了一条同样的信息。
“They say Welcome in four different languages, Arabic, Spanish, Chinese and English.”
“他们用四种不同的语言来表达欢迎，其中有阿拉伯语、西班牙语、中文还有英语。”
The volunteers say their city welcomes everyone.
志愿者们表示，他们的城市欢迎所有人。
“The message today is that you meet new people here.And we show that we’re all very different and we can show that to the world on the airplanes’ flying by and say welcome.”
“今天这则信息是这样的，你在这里遇见新朋友，我们会证明给大家看，每个人都是不同的，我们可以在飞机经过时让整个世界都看到，跟他们说欢迎。”
One Indian immigrant says this is not about politics but reaching out to others.
一位印度移民称，这件事无关政治，真正相关的是与其他人接触。
“It doesn’t matter what accent the person has, what skin color the person has,what religious faith or what sexual orientation the person has, we are all human beings."
“一个人无论带什么口音，身体是什么肤色，也无论宗教信仰是什么，性取向如何，这些都不重要。总之我们都是人类。”
Some say the message reflects the city’s openness.
有些人说，这则信息反映出了这座城市的开放。
“I think it is an important message because there’s so much division going on in the world right now,but in LA, it really does feel like everyone is welcome.”

For arriving flight after flight, the greeting was repeated.
“航班一次接一次的抵达，这句问候也一遍又一遍的重复。”
“It’s a beautiful city and welcome.”

A message they hope was seen by arriving passengers and heard by future visitors around the world.
他们希望入境旅客都能看到这则信息，同时也希望世界各地的未来游客都能听到他们的呼声。
