中超:广州恒大争取卫冕

To soccer now and the Chinese Super League, this weekend marks the last but one round of action, and defending champion Guangzhou Evergrande will take on Liaoning Hongyun. Guangzhou, led by former Italy’s World Cup-winning coach Marcello Lippi, need a win against Liaoning to seal the league title at home. Peter Koveos has the story.

Marching with ambition, Guangzhou has been leading the Super League standings most of the season and are now three points clear of second place Jiangsu Sainty.

With two matches left to play, Evergrande has almost laid its hands on the domestic trophy even though they were held to a 1-1 draw at Jiangsu last weekend.

A win will see Guangzhou defend its Super League title.

Guangzhou striker Gao Lin says the team is aiming to celebrate the potential league title at home.

Gao Lin, Guangzhou striker, said,"I think we have a good chance of winning the trophy on Saturday. We match-up well against Liaoning. The support of the home fans will motivate us to win the game, and we don’t want to let that chance slip away. I can say we have a big opportunity to win the match."
