Chinese cuemaster Ding Junhui is looking good and is through to the quarter-finals of the Welsh Open after beating young Belgian Luca Brecel 4-2. Next up for Ding is a tough encounter against former world champion Neil Robertson. The Australian reached the last 8 of the competition by taking down Marco Fu of Hong Kong, also by a score of 4 frames to 2.

Fu is the first to take control of the table in the opening frame. Here he sinks a long red and he goes on to take a 1-0 lead.

But the UK Champion Robertson bounces back in the second and takes the frame with a break of 126 to level the score.

In the third frame, Fu would build a lead of 53 points as he breaks open the reds. But he then misses a straight forward pink and the Aussie would make him pay by winning the frame.

The fourth frame would be all Robertson as he rolls to a big break of 141 to open a 3-1 lead.

Although Fu managed to pull one frame back, but Robertson would go on to seal a 4-2 victory, the Australian will meet Chinese star Ding next in the quarter-finals.
 
Meanwhile, Ronnie O'Sullivan faced another Chinese Yu Delu in the round of 16, "the Rocket" was in superb form again, after losing the opening frame, the five-time World Champion would seize control and not let go as went on to clinch a 4-1 victory. His victory sets up a quarter-final clash with Mark Selby.
 
This is Mark Williams at the table taking on another Mark in the form of world number one Mark Selby. Unlucky bounce off the green and the cue ball finds the side pocket. Selby would go on to win the fifth frame for a 3-2 lead. He would follow that with breaks of 128 and 115 to clai a 4-2 victory over the Welshman and he's moving on to face O'Sullivan in the quarters.
