C: Thank you! I've always wanted to make a pilgrimage here. Can I see where he was born?

I: No one knows that. Some think he was born in a cowshed and others in a cave. In either case there is nothing remaining here now.

C: How long did he live here?

I: Just for a couple of years until his parents fled to Egypt to avoid persecution from King Herod.

C: I remember, Herod had been told that a king had been born here and so he determined to kill his potential rival although Jesus was only a baby.

I: Later Jesus came back to Israel after Herod died and the family lived in Nazareth.

C: There he had several brothers and sisters too.

I: That's right and then when he was thirty years old he began his public ministry around the Sea of Galilee.

C: That's why so many of his early disciples were fishermen like Peter and James and John.

I: And he did so many miracles like feeding the 5, 000,  tuming water into wine and walking on water.

C: Not forgetting healing the blind, the lame and the sick. Although I think his greatest miracle was to bring Lazarus back from the dead.

I: He was a great teacher and many of the stories he told like the Prodi Son and the Lost Sheep have been enjoyed by young and old.
I：他还是个伟大的老师，一直以来他讲的很多故事都是老少皆宜，比如“浪子回头”和“迷途羔羊”的故事。

C: I think the greatest tragedy was that most of his own people. the Jews, never believed that he was the Son of God.
C:我认为最大的悲哀是他的大多数犹太同胞从来就不相信他是上帝之子。

I: The Jews were expecting the Messiah to come but they expected someone who would rid them of them Roman conquerors not one who would be crucified on a cross.
I：犹太人一直盼望着复国救世主弥赛亚的到来，他们盼的是能帮助他们摆脱罗马征服者统治的人，而不是钉死在十字架上的人。

C: We Christians believe that Jesus died for all our sins and that one day he will return to put an end to all wars and suffering．
C:我们基督教认为耶稣是为了替我们赎罪而死的，他们相信有一天他会回来结束一切战争和苦难。

I: We Jews believe that Jesus was a great prophet but that to call himself God was blasphemy.
I：我们犹太人认为耶稣是个伟大的预言家，但他自称为上帝是对神明的亵渎。

C: I understand that. I guess the best thing to do is to understand each other's religion and agree to disagree agreeably, right?
