tiffany: he's your classmate, right? did somebody die?

carsten: no. his father invested almost all his money in a financial scheme that was supposed to make him a lot of money without any risk.
卡斯滕：不是。他父亲几乎把所有钱投入一个据说可以毫无风险赚很多钱的财务计划。

tiffany: i've heard about schemes like that. they're all swindles. so what happened?
蒂法尼：这样的计划我也听过，都是骗局。他的投资结果怎样？

carsten: he lost his shirt. he didn't make a cent out of it and lost all the money he put in.
卡斯滕：他血本无归，不但一分钱没有赚到，投入计划的钱全都输掉。
