“玩手机”不是“play the phone”！别再说错啦！

要说现代人出门必备的东西，手机绝对榜上有名。每天都在玩手机，但你知道玩手机的英语怎么说吗？难道是“play the phone”？今天，小编就和大家说一说和手机有关的英语表达。

1.玩手机

说到玩，很多人的第一反应都是play。常见的和play搭配的词组包括乐器和各种球类，比如：

play the piano/play basketball/play football

我们说的玩手机其实并不是把手机像球一样的扔来扔去踢来踢去，而是玩手机上的游戏和app，所以不能直接用play。正确的表达有以下几种：

①spend time on the phone

Chinese people currently spend more time on the phone than on the computer.
中国人现在花在手机上的时间超过花在电脑上的。

②play on the phone

如果一定要用play，可以把它变成不及物动词，说play on the phone (screen)，但是后面的screen一般都会省略。

2.手机没电

身为“资深”手机爱好者，简直难以想象手机没电关机的时候。一般电量低于50%，小编就开始慌了，充电器在哪儿呢！

我们几乎每天都会遇到手机没电，但你知道怎么用英语说手机没电了吗？小编和大家分享一些地道的表达。

1. My phone's dead.

这是最地道也是外国人最常说的，“我的手机死掉啦”，其实就是“我手机没电啦”。

Sorry, my phone's dead.
抱歉，我的电话没电了。

2. My phone died.

I think my phone died!
我觉得我手机没电了！

3. My cellphone is out of power.

“out of”指“用完”，power指“电能电量”。

4. My phone battery died.

What will you do when the battery dies?
电池没电的时候你会怎么办呢？

5. My phone has no power.

上面这几种说法都是说手机完全没电了，那手机电量低但是还能撑一会儿该怎么说呢？

1. My phone is going to die.

My phone is going to die. I need to charge it.
我的手机快没电了，我需要充电。

2. My battery is almost dead.
我的手机快没电了。

3. My battery is low.
我手机电量低。

4. My phone is running out of battery.
我的电话快没电了。

5. My phone's dying.
我手机快没电了。

上面很多说法都提到了“die”、“died”、“dead”和“dying”，这几个词应该怎么区分呢？

die是瞬间动词，表示死亡的一瞬间，不能和表示时间段的词连用。
died是die的过去式和过去分词。
dead是形容词，表示死亡的状态。
dying则有临终的，奄奄一息的意思。

3.手机开关机

“手机欠费”不是“My cellphone has no money”，要这么说才对：

My cellphone ran out of credit.
我手机欠费了。

My cellphone charge is overdue.
我的手机欠费了。

5.信号不好

You're breaking up.
（手机信号不好）你的声音断断续续的。

My reception is bad./I have bad reception.
我的信号不太好。
