[00:14.89]On October 17th,1989 a strong earthquake took place and killed over 100 people.

[00:35.45]Part 1  I will never forget the day when the earthquake took place.
[00:42.50]The time was 5:15 in the afternoon.
[00:47.65]In our driving along the road to fetch my daughter from school.
[00:53.21]A plan had been to go swimming together.
[00:57.36]I had finished work at about 4:00,and then gone to the post office.
[01:04.13]I was driving along a high road on my way to the school.
[01:09.59]Over my road was another road for cars going the other way.
[01:15.47]Suddenly,I saw the car in front of me started to move from side to said.
[01:21.82]I slowed down,then my car started to shake.

[01:29.81]Perhaps something had gone wrong with my car.
[01:33.94]I drove even slower,then the road above started to fall down.

[02:26.91]For about 2 hours nobody came.Then I heard people climbing towards me.
[02:33.99]A team of people had come to see if anyone was under the broken road.
[02:40.24]I called out: "I'm here". I heard the shout.
[02:45.41]Soon a stranger climbing the side the bridge near my car.
[02:50.76]It took more than 12 hours to get me out of my car and bring to a hospital.

[03:48.55]Flora heard somebody shouting.She looked around and saw Jeff running.
[03:57.61]Before she could move,She heard a loud noise which grew to a terrible roar.
[04:06.75]She looked at Jeff,who was waving his arms.
[04:12.42]She looked around,behind her.
[04:16.47]There she saw a wall of water that was quickly advancing towards her.
[04:23.84]She was so surprised that she couldn't move She wanted to watch it.
[04:31.99]However,before she could think twice,the water was upon her.
[04:39.35]"Run!"Jeff shouted,seizing her arm.
[04:44.71]The next moment the first wave swept her down,swallowing the garden.
[04:52.47]Jeff dragged her towards the house.
[04:57.33]Everything went so fast, she couldn't think.
