Russia's Defense Ministry said on Monday 63 Russian soldiers had been killed in a Ukrainian New Year's Eve attack on their quarters in the Russian-controlled part of Ukraine's Donetsk province.

A Defense Ministry spokesman said six missiles had been fired, of which four hit the building described as a temporary deployment point, while the others were intercepted and destroyed.
