本集简介：

Emily's cousin kicks Ross out of the apartment they were to live in, so he moves in with Chandler and Joey. Ross is more than a little obnoxious, so Chandler and Joey pressure him to move to a new place... even if it's tiny. Their guilt gets the better of them, however, and they arrange for Ross' application to be rejected. Phoebe dates a Larry, a health inspector she met at Monica's restaurant. At first she is turned on by his power to close places down, but soon realizes that they're running out of good places to eat. Rachel is convinced that Danny likes her and that his apparent apathy toward her is just a ploy to gain the upper hand in their relationship.

故事梗概

Ross再度离婚之后，有一阵子非常颓废，流高失所。于是他和chandlen和Joey住到了一起。
但是Ross有点反客为主，他处处限制爱玩儿的Joey.
因为他爱不了Joey弄出来的噪音。Chandlen和Joey最终决定把Ross再赶出去。不过，两人良心友现. 最终还是把Ross挽留了下来。

Rachel: How's Ross doing? Y'know since all the Emily stuff.

Monica: He's not great umm, but he's dealing with it. Oh wait a minute, you're not gonna try?

Rachel: Oh, honey, please, no, I can't get started with all that Ross stuff again. I mean, he's gonna screwed up for a looong time. And besides y'know, I don't, I don't go for guys right after they get divorced.

Monica: Right, you only go for them 5 minutes before they get married.

当我们谈起彼此都知道的人或事时(specific talk or actions)，尤其是不愿总提或不好意思说出口的话题时，常常用stuff代替。Rachel这里说的Emily stuff，显然是指Ross上次婚礼上将Emily说成Rachel的那件事。而Monica的回答堪称经典，她不留余地的讽刺Rachel，意思是，要不是你在人家结婚前赶到现场，也许Ross的脑袋中，不会全是你。你只会在guys结婚前的5分钟go for guys，go for guys是指“找男人约会”。

stuff还经常指unspecifled material，即“不特指的东西”。例如：Put that stuff over there．(把东西放到那!)

What's all this stuffon my desk?(我的桌子上尽是些什么东西?)

甚至你想说“没你什么事”时，也可用stuff这个词，例如：None of your stuff!(没你什么事!)Do your stuff!(干你自己的事!)

在俚语中，stuff可以指money，cash，或毒品、赃物等。而stuff当作动词时，往往表示“充满”。例如：

His head is stuffed with silly notions．(他的脑袋中满是愚蠢的想法。)

The bed was stuffed with cotton so it was very soft．(这张床里塞满了棉花，因此很柔软。)

He stuffed himself full of food．(他把自己喂得很饱。)

再举几个关于stuff的例子：He knows his stuff．
(他了解他自己本行。)；cut the rough stuff(停止粗鲁的言行)；do…one’s stuff(拿出自己的本领)；know one’s stuff(对工作很内行)。

good stuff是指“好东西”，“好酒”；poor stuff则指“低劣东西；无用的东西”；hot stuff是指“惊人的举动，高手等”；kid stuff则是“儿戏、幼稚的事物”；little stuff是“小人物”；rough stuff是“流氓无赖的行为，黄色文学”；sob stuff是指“伤感故事”。

animal feeding stuffs是“牲畜饲料”，dye stuff是“染料，颜料”，learning stuff是“学习材料”，teaching stuff是“教学材料”，raw stuff是“原料”，real stuff是“真货”，fake stuff则是“假货”。
