helga: ten thousand dollars was stolen from my account after i used an automated teller machine (atm) in the high street last week.

mario: how did it happen?

helga: well the police told me that criminals had put a card-reading device in the atm card slot before i used it.

mario: i've heard about that. when you put your card in, the device records the details on your card including your pin number.
