President Trump has announced that the leader of the Islamic state group Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has died during an operation by U.S special force in Syria. Mr.Trump said al-Baghdadi has blown himself up in a tunnel, killing three of his own children. The president described the IS leader as a coward and thug, who spent his last moments in utter fear. The American allies, including Britain and France have welcomed the announcement. Mr.Trump also thanked Russia, saying it opened air space to allow the raid to take place. But Moscow has denied having done so.

Exit polls suggest the far-right alternative for Germany party has more than double its vote in regional elections in eastern state of Thuringia. It's thought to have received 24%. The poll was won by the descendants of the former east German communist, known as the left.

European union ambassadors are to discuss obliging Britain to nominate a member of the European commission. They will meet on Monday to decide how long to delay Brexit. The suggestion has included a draft paper seen by BBC.

A major rescue operation is taking place in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, where a two-year old boy is trapped in a narrow well. The toddler remained stuck after falling on Friday.

The governor of California has declared a statewide emergency, as wildfires whipped out by ferocious winds continue to sweep through the area. Nearly 200,000 people in the north of the U.S state have been ordered to leave their homes.

Thousands of operation demonstrators have set off the Pakistani city of Karachi on an anti-government march that would take to the capital Islamabad. The event's leader is calling for the resignation of the prime minister Imran Khan.

A 13th century masterpiece that had been hanging above a cooker for years has fetched more than 26 million dollar of auction, four times the estimate. The painting, Christ Mocked by the pre-resonance Italian artist Cimabue was found in a kitchen this year, just before it was due to be taken into rubbish dump.
