Opioid overdoses killed more than 64 thousand Americans in 2016.In October President Donald Trump declared it a national public health emergency,outlining steps such as researching non-addictive painkillers, opioid awareness programs,and a crackdown on illegal drugs entering the country from China and across the US southern border with Mexico.
