The One With The Vows

Monica and Chandler each attempt to write their wedding vows, but both have difficulty. Their friends try to help by reminding them of their pasts together, which we see in the form of flashbacks from previous episodes.

故事梗概

婚礼上Chandler和Monica需要分别向宾客宣读婚誓，圆此两人得提前把各自的婚誓写好．这可难环了Chandler，尽管他绞尽脑汁想写出感人至深的婚誓来，但最终逐是不知如何下笔．般无奈的他只好向Ross和Joey求助……

对白：

Chandler: (writing) Monica, there are no words?(To Joey and Ross) Thereare no words! This should not be this hard!

Joey: All right, uh?(To Ross) Oh hey, you're done this beforeRoss, well what did you say when you made up your vows?

Ross: Well with Carol, I promised never to love another womanuntil the day I die. She made no such promise.

Chandler: I'm so pathetic! Monica knows what she wants to say! Youshould've seen her. Writing, writing, writing!

Chandler觉得写婚誓很hard。如果经常跟美国人交流你就会发现美国人很喜欢用hard这个词。不仅在表示做某事很难的场合用，在许多其他不同的场合比如说对某人很凶，对某人很刻薄，或是对人很严格都可以用。

作妻子的有时会抱怨丈夫对她不好，可能是由于对她发脾气，或是对她态度很差。这样的抱怨也可以用hard这样来表达：He was sohard on me last rdght．要安慰别人的话，可以说：No hardfeelings．就是说不要有难受的感觉，不要把hard feeling放在心上。例如我的学生考试没考好，我就可以这样安慰他：No hard feelings，I believeyou are gonna ace it next time．(别难过了，我相信下次你一定会考出好成绩的。)。?lave a hard time with someone一般用来表示和某个人的关系处得特别不好，尤其是形容情侣或是夫妻之间。如果你听美国的广播节目，就会常听到有人call in打进直播间说：I have a hardtime with my girlfriend．(我跟我女友关系非常不好。)通常如果那天特别适合吵架的话，一天之内就可以接听到好几次这样的电话。hard ti。me还有一个很常用的用法，就是表示做什么事会有困难。比如说最近Star War要上演了，你想去看首映，那么别人可能会警告你说：You will have a hard time getting a ticket．(你要想买到票是很困难的。)又比方说你朋友做错事，但他却一直不承认他自己有错，这时你就可以说：Why do you have such a hard time admitting it?(要你承认错误有那么困难吗?)

take somethinghard则是用来表示由于某事而心情沉重或心里难过，一般用在遭遇不幸、灾难、厄运等场合。比如：Henry’s wifetold him she wanted a divorce，andhe’s taking it pretty hard．(Henry的妻子跟他提出离婚，地听后万分难过。)当然你也可以用Don’t take it so hard．来安慰别人，意思艰上述的No hard feelings．相似。例如：Don’t take it so hard．It’s tougl-losing your job,but I’msure you’ll find something else soon．(不要那么垂头丧气嘛。丢掉了饭碗是不好受，但是我相信你很快就会找到别的工作。)
