皇室婚礼的芭比娃娃
Commemorative Barbie dolls of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are going on sale in Hamleys toy store in London. Mattel Inc, the U.S. makers of Barbie dolls released the special two-doll set to mark the one-year anniversary of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011.
The figures are part of a limited collection by Mattel which have already sold out in America. The box set costs just under 100 British pounds and Mattel says they are more of a collector’s item than a toy.
The total sales are about 30 times more than originally forecast. Although it has been almost one year since their wedding ceremony, we see no sign of the couple’s popularity waning. While the dolls might not be to everybody’s taste, the royal couple who represent a modern marriage are still hugely popular around the globe. And that can be good news for Britain and the brands William and Kate.
