美国航班延误有无补偿？

So the responsibility, what responsibility do airlines have to compensate travelers who suffer those severe weather delays?

So Lee what can travelers expect and it's different if a flight's canceled rather than delayed, right?

李先生，旅客能期待什么补偿呢，如果航班被取消而不是延误的话补偿应该不一样吧?

Yeah well, the truth is flyers can not really be sure what to expect.

是啊，但事实是，旅客并不确定会有什么补偿。

And if it is canceled by law, they are responsible for refunding you, but if it's delayed then it becomes really murky.

如果航班是因为法律规定取消了，航空公司就有责任退款给你，但如果是延误，那就变得很复杂了。

It's not like it is in Europe where they're required to give you compensation if you're delayed for more than three hours and up to 250, and up to 600 if your flight is delayed for a long period of time especially if it's international.

不像在欧洲，如果你的航班延误超过三个小时，他们就需要给你赔偿，赔偿金额最高可达250欧元，如果你的航班延误很长时间，尤其是国际航班，他们需要给你高达600欧元的赔偿。

In the US you're going to have to go via the individual airline and kind of hope for the best and deal with long lines.

Yeah I want to drill down on that a little bit, so what happened to the hotel vouchers and cabs we used to get when they strand you overnight?

Well sometimes it's actually more trouble than it's worth waiting for it, right?

And a lot of times people just try to rebook on the app which is exactly what I would do instead of standing around just trying to get some compensation whether it's $25 for food or, you know, maybe $100 voucher for a crappy hotel by the airport.
