North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has arrived in Singapore for his scheduled summit meeting with US President Donald Trump.

朝鲜领导人金正恩已抵达新加坡，准备参加预定的“特金会”。

The historic meeting between the two leaders will take place at the island resort of Sentosa on Tuesday.

两位领导人的历史性会晤将于周二在圣淘沙岛度假胜地举行。

It is the first time a North Korean leader has met a sitting US president.

这是朝鲜领导人首次会晤美国在任总统。

Trump will arrive later on Sunday.

特朗普将于周日晚些时候抵达。

Washington hopes the summit will kick-start a process that eventually sees Kim give up his nuclear weapons.

华盛顿希望此次峰会将启动金正恩最终放弃其核武器的过程。

Kim was greeted at Singapore’s Changi airport by Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Vivian Balakrishnan.

According to images released by the Singaporean government, Kim arrived on an Air China plane. Accompanying him was Kim Yong Chol, who earlier this month met with President Trump to hand deliver a letter from Kim.

He is due to meet with Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong later Sunday. Lee will have a separate meeting with Trump on Monday.
