Initial exit polls in Spain general election suggest the Socialist Party of the acting prime minister Pedro Sánchez is leading the contest, but it is not yet clear whether they will win a majority. The conservative People's Party is expected to come in second, while the far-right Vox is third.

There's going pressure on the Bolivian president Evo Morales to step aside amid continuing political turmoil in the country. Three senior officials have turned their resignations after protesters set fires to their homes. Earlier, Mr.Morales agreed to hold a fresh election after the organization of American States found serious regularities in last month poll.

The former US ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley has said two senior members of the Trump's administration try to encourage her to undermine the president. In a new book, Nikki Haley claims the former White House chief of staff John Kelly and the former secretary of states Rex Tillerson urged her to resist some of president Trump's demands in what they said were an attempt to save the country.

A bomb blast in part of northern Syria under the control of Turkish-led forces has left eight people dead. The attack has detonated a car bomb near the border town of Tal Abyad. Ankara has blamed Kurdish YPG militia. It hasn't yet responded to the charge.

A senior US military commander has said Washington is likely to keep around 500 troops in Syria to prevent a resurgence of the Islamic State group. President Trump was heavily criticized last month when he abruptly announced a complete withdrawal of American troops.

The Pope's urged the leaders of South Sudan to overcome their differences and find consensus for the good of the country. It comes after president Salva Kirrr and the former rebel leader Riek Machar again postponed forming a unity government.
