24. 到底用contents还是content
 
a. 常用contents的情况

1. 指包、袋、箱子、容器等里面的物体（the contents of a box, bag, bottle building, room, etc）时，一般用contents。例如：

the contents of the chest proved them wrong.
海底沉箱内的物品证明他们弄错了。

now cups say, “caution, contents are hot”.
现在纸杯上都印有“内有热饮，小心烫口”的字样。

2. 指书或杂志的目录（a list at the beginning of a book or magazine）时，一般用contents。例如：

i can't find it in the contents.
我在目录当中找不到。

b. 常用content的情况

用于名词之后指“容量、含量”.（amount of sth contained in sth else）时。一般用content。例如:

the silver content of coin
硬币中银的含量
