Floods and landslides caused by torrential rain in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo have killed at least 36 people.

Others are thought to be trapped in the rubble of collapsed buildings in towns along the North coast. This report from James Reid.

Sao Paulo's civil defense agency says the North coast received 60 centimeters of rain in 24 hours.
